To me, Halo is still the king what comes to sales for an actual quality, hardcore game. CoD may sell more, but it's arguably worse and other even better games just haven't sold as much.
Halo doesn't compromise in order to appeal for the mainstream, but it still sells.

Most of it, like this one (doesn't really sound like his stuff), probably isn't Zimmer's work but his team's... Which might even be a better thing as I can't imagine an Oscar WINNER taking something like Crysis too seriously, whereas the smaller names, I'd I magine, definitely want to prove themselves. And they're all still hand-picked by Zimmer, so...

Active Camouflage.
Many games have this and it's considered as a given in game worlds like Crysis which boggles my mind!
Invisibility would pretty much be all you ever needed. You'd be WINNING 24/7. Total victory, even over tiger blood.
Active cloaking is also on a whole another level from a technical standpoint than the other powers of the nano-suit.

There is no way, BTW, you could prove that Homefront is great. It just isn't. It's nothing original, nothing of über high quality in terms of graphics, physics or story telling and there's not a ton content or variety either...
Sure it might be fun for a while and newcomers may find it more original than it is, but that's it.

That's good yeah... The timed puzzles weren't too much of a hassle for hardcore gamers surely, but for newcomers they may have proved frustrating. And in the end, Portal isn't about reaction time.
